Well-Being Therapy is the psychotherapeutic approach that uses strategies based on monitoring psychological well-being, instead of solely focusing on distress, to help clients learn how to increase well-being in an 8-session program.

Session 1

We will begin with an initial assessment and have therapeutic conversations regarding the challenges you are currently experiencing to help me to understand your previous experiences, frustrations, and successes. What makes Well-Being Therapy different from other forms of therapy is that instead of solely focusing on the outcomes of your distress and what is wrong with you, we will also work on the positive parts of you to develop new ways of thinking and feeling about your circumstances.

I will have five goals accomplished by the end of our first session to familiarize you with the structure and treatment modalities of Well-Being Therapy’s 8-session program and to get your agreement that this is a good fit for your personality style.

To participate in the program, you will need to agree to complete the weekly homework assignments that are integral in measuring your growth week-by-week. There will be assigned questionnaires during treatment to introduce ways in which will help you to increase the awareness of your positive emotions and to record pleasant activities, and positive experiences.

Session 2-7

We will focus on enhancing your self-monitoring periods of well-being and then identifying your thoughts, beliefs, and resulting behaviors that prematurely interrupt this state of being. Well-Being Therapy includes gaining awareness and implementable skills for greater:

• personal growth
• self-acceptance
• autonomy
• purpose in life
• environmental mastery
• positive relations with others

Well-Being Therapy’s end goal is that you have enough tools to continue with self-therapy for greater life satisfaction and higher levels of daily happiness.
