Well-Being Therapy
Well-Being Therapy is a psychotherapeutic approach that focuses on enhancing psychological well-being rather than solely addressing distress. This 8-session program helps clients learn how to increase their well-being by integrating positive psychology strategies and self-monitoring techniques.
Session 1: Initial Assessment and Goal Setting
In our first session, we will conduct a thorough assessment to understand the challenges you are currently experiencing. We’ll explore your past experiences, frustrations, and successes. What sets Well-Being Therapy apart is its dual focus on addressing your distress and highlighting your strengths to develop new ways of thinking and feeling about your circumstances.
By the end of our first session, we aim to achieve the following goals:
- Familiarize you with the structure and treatment modalities of the Well-Being Therapy program.
- Ensure that this approach aligns with your personality and therapeutic needs.
- Agree on weekly homework assignments essential for measuring your progress.
- Introduce questionnaires to increase your awareness of positive emotions and record pleasant activities and experiences.
Note:
To participate in the program, you will need to commit to completing weekly homework assignments that are crucial for tracking your progress. Throughout the treatment, you will also be given questionnaires designed to enhance your awareness of positive emotions and to help you document pleasant activities and positive experiences.
Session 2-7: Building Skills for Greater Well-Being
During sessions 2 to 7, we will concentrate on enhancing your self-monitoring of well-being and identifying the thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that disrupt this state. Well-Being Therapy focuses on the following areas to promote personal growth and life satisfaction:
- Personal Growth: Develop and recognize your strengths and potential.
- Self-Acceptance: Cultivate a positive and accepting view of yourself.
- Autonomy: Increase your sense of independence and self-determination.
- Purpose in Life: Clarify and pursue meaningful life goals.
- Environmental Mastery: Enhance your ability to manage and thrive in your surroundings.
- Positive Relations with Others: Foster healthier and more fulfilling relationships.
End Goal: Empowering Self-Therapy for Long-Term Happiness
The ultimate goal of Well-Being Therapy is to equip you with the tools and skills necessary for continued self-therapy, leading to greater life satisfaction and daily happiness. By the end of the program, you will have a deeper understanding of your psychological well-being and the strategies to maintain and enhance it.
