Group Therapy for Women

An invitation to be seen, heard, and changed together.

Why Group Therapy?

There’s something that happens in a group that can’t happen one-on-one. When you sit in a circle with other women and someone finally says the thing everyone’s been thinking, the room shifts. When you realize you’re not the only one struggling with this, the shame loses its grip.

Individual Therapy is powerful. Group therapy is different. It’s not just more affordable—it offers something individual work can’t: the mirror of recognition in another’s eyes, saying, “I see you. You’re not alone.”

The transformation rarely arrives in grand epiphanies. It comes in the quiet micro-moments: a knowing glance, a soft smile, the exhale of relief when you realize you’re not the only one carrying this weight.

The greatest paradox of group therapy: we must risk being seen by strangers to finally recognize ourselves.

What makes group therapy powerful

You learn things you can’t learn alone. Growth is relational. Insight matters, but change sticks when that insight is lived out loud in real time, witnessed by people who see you clearly and stay anyway.

1

You’re not alone in your struggles

2

How others see you (which is often startlingly different from how you see yourself)

3

What patterns you bring into relationships by experiencing them in real-time

4

How to ask for what you need and set boundaries with support

5

That being vulnerable doesn’t destroy you—it connects you

My approach to group

I’ve been facilitating therapy groups for twenty-five years and teaching group therapy at Pepperdine University for eighteen years. I’ve trained hundreds of therapists how to do this work. One truth remains constant: healing happens in relationship.

  • My role isn’t to lecture or hand out quick fixes. I hold a compassionate, direct space where:
  • Silence is respected—sometimes the pause is the breakthrough
  • Honest feedback lands gently, not like a grenade
  • We honor tenderness without sidestepping accountability
  • You’re witnessed, not advised
  • Group therapy isn’t about feeling better. It’s about feeling real. That’s where the shift happens.

The Journey: 10 Weeks Together

This isn’t a drop-in support group. It’s a closed and structured therapy series that takes place in a community setting. Same members each week. Building trust over time.

We begin by building trust through sharing the turning points that shaped you. As safety deepens, we explore the patterns you keep repeating, the roles you’re tired of playing, and the unfinished business that’s still running your life.

We examine the masks you wear for survival, the inner critics that sound like protection but feel like punishment, and the family patterns you didn’t choose but still carry. We look at the expectations you’re exhausted from meeting and whose voice you’re still trying to satisfy.

By the final weeks, we’re examining the stories you tell yourself about who you are and who you’re allowed to become. We practice reauthoring the limiting beliefs that keep you stuck.

We close with integration, reflection, and my signature stone ceremony—a tangible reminder of the transformation that happened here.

Each session includes: Check-ins, thematic exploration, “What Went Well” closings, and deep listening as the foundation for authentic presence.

We’ll meet one-on-one first to ensure the timing and fit are right. Group therapy is powerful, but it’s not right for everyone or every moment. Our consultation helps us both know if this is your next step.

Current availability

Next cohort forming now for January 2026. If the group is full, I’ll place you on the early-bird list for the next series.
